Robert Zelle birthday bash

Posted on Updated on

Kia ora, dear Zelle whanau!

Did you know that Zelle Records was named after Zellestraße in Berlin-Friedrichshain and the building where Sandra Bell stayed for a few months in 1997 and where yours truly lived from 1991 until 2000? Our building, Zellestraße 3, a squat from 1990 to 1995, was commonly referred to as “die Zelle” in squatters circles. The street took its name from Robert Zelle (19/09/1829-25/01/1901) who became Mayor of Berlin in 1891 and Lord Mayor in 1892. Zelle retired in 1898.

Why am I telling you this? Well, because it’s Robert Zelle‘s birthday of course. Happy birthday Robert, wherever you are! Ok, so if you place an order now (by, say Wednesday, 21th Sept, 6pm Dunedin time), I’ll knock you 10 percent off the net price. Deal? Deal.

Hei kona mai
